Formed in 2001 under the name Lonely Band, the power pop unit now known as The Adams finally released their latest album Agterplaas after 13 years in 2019. With original songs that combine garage rock distortion with breathtaking vocal harmonies, The Adams are always highly awaited.

Named as Best New Act by Rolling Stone Indonesia in 2014, Danilla’s first album mixed elements of bossa nova, jazz, and traditional Indonesian pop music, with her distinctive alto vocals. Her next album saw her sound evolve into more modern pop sounds of R&B and psychadelic music, with a synthesizer and electric guitar. Most recently, she released a compilation album with her songs rearranged to 80s pop.

A young singer who started her career doing song covers on social media, Nadin Amizah released her debut album “Selamat Ulang Tahun” in May 2020. She first gained recognition through her collaboration with Dipha Barus, as well as other musicians such as Matter Halo and Sal Priadi. Since, she has won four AMI awards throughout her career.

Kunto Aji started his career in the music industry as a contestant on Indonesian Idol in 2008. In his most recent album, “Mantra, Mantra,” he aims to spread awareness of the importance of mental health through his lyrics. The album went on to receive numerous nominations and awards.

An alumna of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and Royal College of Music, Isyana started as a soloist and recitalist in classical music. She participated in numerous international musical competitions, including song composition, before releasing her debut album in 2015. While her first two albums had a Pop and R&B genre, her latest album adopts a more theatrical theme that expresses her true self in classical and opera.

Hara is Rara Sekar’s solo project, a new space for her to experiment with various media. After Banda Neira, Daramuda, and other collaborative projects that took place between and after, Rara Sekar finally released her solo music project in October 2020. Unlike her previous music projects, Hara’s music is a musical fusion inspired by folk, ambient, neo-classical, and post-rock. 

Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta-based Senyawa mixes influences from Indonesian musical and folklore traditions with experimental music, using self-built musical instruments made from bamboo and traditional agricultural tools from rural Indonesia. Their lyrics are in various languages of Indonesia, including Sulawesian, Javanese, and Indonesian. The duo has performed extensively all over Asia, Australia, and Europe. 

Bandung

The SIGIT, with their exhilarating mixture of hard rock music, is often compared to bands such as Wolfmother and Datsuns, even being dubbed as the Indonesian answer to Wolfmother by an Australian media. The group recently released a new single after seven years since their last album.

Jakarta

Diskoria is a DJ duo formed by Merdi and Aat who played Indonesian disco music back-to-back in their performances. This duo was formed in early 2015 due to their shared vision of bringing back the glory days of Indonesian music and to use Indonesian disco music to create a lively party in the Jakarta dance scene.
